Warm Up This Winter with These Wine Frappés
Think wine slushies can be enjoyed only during the warm weather months? That is simply not the case, as there are a variety of delicious frappé flavors that are best enjoyed hot and are perfect for winter. Let these wine frappés warm you and your friends up during the cold winter months to come.
- Warm Mulling Spice Frappé: Planning a gathering at your home and looking for an easy and delicious adult beverage? Try the Warm Mulling Spice frappé. You can do all the “work” before your guests arrive. Simply add your favorite dry red wine (we recommend Merlot) and water to the frappé mix and stir well. Then, transfer to a slow cooker on a “low” setting for approximately 30-60 minutes, letting it warm. By the time guests arrive, you can offer them a warm mug of warm mulling spice. As an added bonus, your home will smell amazing, as the sweet fragrances of cinnamon and other mulling spices fills your home. If you wish to make this beverage for guests of all ages, you can substitute apple cider, cranberry juice or hot tea for the wine.
- Pumpkin Spice Frappé: Who says pumpkin spice is only for the fall season? We love to enjoy this sweet frappé all winter long. This frappé is best when mixed with rum, not wine, and can be served both hot or cold. Top with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
- Granny’s Apple Pie Frappé: Another easy recipe for entertaining is the Granny’s Apple Pie frappé. This frappe tastes wonderful when blended with a dry white wine, rum or even cinnamon whiskey. Simply put all ingredients in a slow cooker on low for 30 minutes until the mixture is warm. This scrumptious frappé tastes just like eating a slice of homemade apple pie! You could even serve them to guests in place of dessert.
