Wine Frappe and Snack Food Pairings

Besides making a great addition to main entree's, our wine frappes also make a great option to pair with snack foods! Below, we've created a list of our favorite snack foods and paired them with our most popular wine frappes. If you felt we left out your favorite snack food, or have a great pairing of your own, shoot us an email or let us know on our Facebook page and we'll add it to the list!

1. Popcorn

This popular treat goes well with our pomegranate, blood orange, peach mango or wild sour apple frappe flavors, when made with chardonnay. The acidity in the chardonnay enhances the buttery flavor of the popcorn, and the sweet but tart flavors with a hint of citrus, bring out the saltiness of the popcorn, creating a tasty pairing.

2. Potato Chips or Fries

These snack staples pair well with chardonnay or champagne , so try pairing with a strawberry rhubarb, peach mango, blood orange, pomegranate or a lemon burst frappe. The high acidity in chardonnay and the carbonation in champagne will enhance the saltiness of these snacks, and are a perfect match with the starches and fats found in them.

3. BBQ Chips

The spices and flavoring added to barbecue chips pair well with a dry red wine like pinot noir. The bright red fruit flavors found in pinot enhance the spiciness of the chips. Our sangria and very berry raspberry frappes would be the best option to pair with this snack.

4. Chocolate

With many different types of chocolate to choose from, this snack and wine pairing could be a blog in itself (who knows next month it might be) so this is a general overview of the best pairing options for chocolate as a whole. Chocolate treats tend to pair best with ports and other dry reds. Try enjoying your favorite chocolate snack combined with a sangria, warm mulling spice, chocolate martini, or wild cherry wine frappe made with a port wine.

5. Pizza

While pizza could also be considered an entree, we decided to include it anyway because its delicious cheesy presence is always welcome. For best results, pair your pizza with a dry, high acidic red like malbec. Malbec can be mixed with our sangria frappe or even our very berry raspberry frappe mix. The smooth berry flavors will enhance the flavor of the pizza, giving your taste buds a little treat.

6. Jalapeño Poppers

For these spicy snacks, you'll want to pair them with one of our sweeter frappes to balance out the spiciness. Use a semi-sweet riesling or a dry wine like chardonnay, and mix with our margarita, strawberry daiquiri, mojito, or pina colada frappes for best results

7. Chips and Salsa

There are couple different flavors of wine frappes you could pair with this popular snack. Chardonnay or a semi-sweet riesling will compliment the saltiness of the tortilla chips, while also providing a sweet balance to spicy salsa. Make it a Mexican themed food night and serve with a margarita or pina colada frappe.

8. Fried Mozzarella Sticks

Mozzarella can be paired with both dry reds and dry whites, making this the easiest food on our list to serve! As all of our wine frappes were created to be mixed with dry wine, you can serve this treat with any of our flavors and achieve delicious results.

9. Peanuts

Serve this popular salty snack with one of our sweet and fruity frappes. A cranberry, strawberry daiquiri, wild cherry, or watermelon frappe mixed with chardonnay wine, would taste great with peanuts and help balance out the saltiness.

10. Donuts

Create an exciting breakfast and serve some tasty donuts with a blood orange or peach mango mimosa! The champagne will overpower the fat and sweetness of the donuts, lightening the flavor and providing a nice balance.

11. Rice Krispies Treats

Compliment the sweet marshmallow and sugar flavors with one of our sweeter frappes like granny's apple pie, wild cherry, watermelon, or strawberry daiquiri. Mix the bag of frappe mix with a semi-sweet riesling for best pairing results.

12. Brownies

For this treat, you'll want to pair it with a frappe that can compliment the intense chocolate flavor of the brownies. A dry red like merlot or port goes best. Try our Chocolate Martini frappe mix for a chocolate overload, or try our sangria, mulling spice or cherry mixed with merlot to create a delicious wine and food pairing.
